Macgiver, can you point me to the universal binaries for the 4670 – I have only found the PowerPC.
I’d appreciate it! I too have an intel MacPro.

I’m not sure what you mean. I have a Mac Pro and this scaner works great. In fact the driver and utility update from HP is Universal. Maybe try the newest update.

There nice as long as you don’t have an intel based mac. HP has not upgraded the driver because the scanner in discontinued. I agree, this is a sweet scanner, I absolutely love it, and I am surprised that HP has discontinued this model and equally surprised that no other vendor has pick-ed up the idea on this type of scanning. I am left with two options. Hook up my scanner to an older mac or pay for a third party driver that supports this scanner on intel macs like VueScan for $89 at http://www.hamrick.com/
